OUR STORY

From a Single Vessel to a Fleet

Windholm started in 2014 with one yacht and a straightforward goal: give people a way to explore the Andaman Sea without the stress that tends to come with it. The founding crew had sailed these waters for years as private guides and decided there was room for a company that took the organisational side seriously, so guests could concentrate on the experience.

The first season ran half-day coastal trips from Rawai. Word spread among the beach and expat community in Phuket's south, and within two years the fleet had grown to accommodate longer voyages. The Coral Island route became the most-requested trip; the multi-day Andaman voyage followed shortly after as demand came from guests who wanted to push further into the island chains.

Today Windholm operates three core charter formats and has maintained the same working culture it started with — a small, experienced team, direct communication, and no shortcuts on vessel upkeep.

HOW WE OPERATE

Standards We Don't Compromise On

These are the operational commitments that apply to every charter, regardless of duration or destination.

Thai Maritime Certification

All captains hold current Thai Maritime Authority licences. Vessels are registered and inspected annually by the Thai Marine Department.

Safety Equipment Standards

Every vessel carries life jackets for all passengers, flares, first aid kits, EPIRBs, and fire extinguishers. Equipment is checked before each departure.

Vessel Maintenance

Each yacht in the Windholm fleet undergoes a full service at the start of the season and an out-of-water inspection between November and December. Hull, rigging, and engine work is handled by certified marine mechanics in Phuket.

Marine Environment Respect

No anchoring over live coral. All waste is returned to shore for proper disposal. Guest briefings include guidance on reef behaviour and sunscreen choices before snorkeling stops.

Weather Monitoring Protocol

Marine weather data is reviewed at 06:00 and 18:00 each day. Departures are postponed if wave height or wind speed exceed safe thresholds for the route and vessel type.

Data & Privacy Handling

Guest information collected at booking is used only for charter coordination and not shared with third parties for marketing. Personal data is held for two years or deleted earlier upon request.

WINDHOLM · RAWAI · ANDAMAN SAILING

Yacht Charters in Southern Phuket

Windholm operates from Rawai Beach on the southern tip of Phuket Island, close to Promthep Cape — one of the most recognisable landmarks in the region and the departure point for the coastal glide route. The location gives the fleet direct access to the sheltered bays of the southwest coast, the Coral Island channels, and the open Andaman routes south toward Koh Racha and northwest toward the Similan Islands.

The Andaman Sea between November and April offers some of the most consistent sailing conditions in Southeast Asia: northeast trade winds in the 10–18 knot range, flat to low swells, and visibility at snorkeling sites that regularly exceeds fifteen metres. Windholm schedules its primary multi-day voyages within this window, with half-day and full-day charters available throughout the broader season.

Southern Phuket's marine environment includes several protected areas, among them the Similan Islands National Park and the Koh Racha Marine Reserve. Windholm coordinates park entry permits for multi-day voyages and briefs guests on responsible interaction with coral reef ecosystems, consistent with the marine park regulations administered by the Thai Department of National Parks.

For groups seeking private use of the vessel, corporate outings, or arrangements around specific dates or destinations, the Windholm office at Rawai Beach can be reached by phone at +66 76 289 574 or by email at [email protected].
